TIRE PROTECTION PLAN

Metro Vancouver roads are tough on tires — potholes, debris, and harsh winter conditions come with the territory. Vancity Tires’ road hazard protection plan has you covered across Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey, and the entire Lower Mainland.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Every set of tires purchased and installed at Vancity Tires are eligible to add-on our Tire Protection Plan for peace-of-mind. Here’s what Metro Vancouver drivers get:

🔧

Free Flat Repairs

Picked up a nail on a Burnaby side street or hit a pothole crossing the Queensborough Bridge? Bring it in — we’ll repair your flat at no charge.

🛡️

Road Hazard Protection

If road debris, potholes, or other hazards on Metro Vancouver roads damage your tire beyond repair, we’ll replace it. Because BC roads don’t always cooperate.

💨

Free Air Top-Ups

The Lower Mainland’s temperature swings affect tire pressure more than most drivers realize. Drop in anytime — we’ll check and inflate your tires for free.

HOW LONG YOU’RE COVERED

Your Tire Protection Plan is active for whichever of the following comes first:

2 Years from Purchase — Or until the tire tread wears down to 3/32 of an inch, whichever comes first.

Manufacturer’s Tread Wear Warranty — Coverage also ends when the manufacturer’s kilometre tread wear warranty period expires.

KEEPING YOUR COVERAGE VALID

To keep your Tire Protection Plan active, you’re responsible for routine tire maintenance. BC roads — particularly after winter — can accelerate wear if your vehicle isn’t properly maintained. The following are required:

Wheel Alignment: Keep your vehicle properly aligned to prevent abnormal tire wear. Metro Vancouver’s roads can knock alignment off quickly. Abnormal wear may void your manufacturer warranty and affect claim eligibility.

Tire Pressure: Check cold inflation pressure monthly as specified in your owner’s manual. Seasonal temperature changes across the Lower Mainland can cause pressure to drop without warning. We’ll check it for free whenever you visit Vancity Tires.

Tire Rotation: Rotate your tires every 8,000–10,000 km, or per the manufacturer’s recommendation. Regular rotation extends tread life and keeps your coverage intact.

HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM

Making a road hazard claim at Vancity Tires is simple. Just visit us at our Richmond location with the following:

1

Bring your original purchase invoice from Vancity Tires as proof of your tire purchase and TPP eligibility.

2

Bring the damaged tire and your vehicle so our technicians can inspect the damage in person.

3

We assess and process your claim on the spot. If the tire is deemed unrepairable due to a road hazard, you’ll receive a pro-rated credit toward a replacement — applied immediately.

How your credit is calculated: Your credit equals the original tire purchase price multiplied by the percentage of tread depth remaining above 4/32 of an inch. Valve stems, rim cleaning, balancing, labour, and taxes are not included in the credit. Example: Full tread on a regular passenger tire is 10/32 and at the time of the claim, 6/32 tread is remaining, the tread credit applicable will be for 2/32 or 20% of original tread depth. When a tire is below 4/32, tire is deemed to be unsafe and due for replacement.

WHAT’S NOT COVERED

The Tire Protection Plan covers road hazard damage only — it does not cover misuse, mechanical failure, or normal wear. The following are excluded:

Run flat tires
Wheel rim leaks
Racing, improper inflation, overloading, misapplication, or high-speed spinning
Neglect, misuse, chain damage, or correctable mechanical conditions (e.g. alignment issues)
Repairs from leaking valve stems or valve cores

Tires damaged by collision or abrasion
Fire, chemical corrosion, tire alteration, vandalism, or theft
Damage caused by a mechanical defect on the vehicle

Unaffected tires on the same vehicle (e.g. the 3 other tires on an AWD vehicle that did not sustain road hazard damage)
Original equipment (OE) tires
Tires damaged as a result of TPMS failure
Tires not installed on the original vehicle for which they were purchased
Tires with D.O.T. numbers removed from the sidewall
Cost of a temporary or alternate tire to travel to our location
Ozone or weather cracking
Passenger car tires installed on a light truck
Commercial or heavy-load applications (unless proper fitment on a commercial light truck)
Cosmetic or appearance damage only

Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including towing, accommodation, meals, rental vehicles, loss of vehicle use, or personal injury
Important Notice: This Tire Protection Plan is not a warranty or guarantee, nor does it represent that Vancity Tires manufactures the brand-name tires it sells, or that those tires are impervious to road hazard damage. Coverage is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser only. The remedies set out in this policy are exhaustive — the total liability of Vancity Tires shall not exceed the original purchase price of the affected tire. Only one tire may be claimed per TPP claim. Vancity Tires proudly serves drivers across Metro Vancouver, including Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Delta, Langley, and Maple Ridge.
